Dr. Leif Rosenberger is a distinguished scholar and is currently serving as a Governance Advisor at the Peacekeeping and Stability Operations Institute (PKSOI) at the US Army War College in Carlisle Barracks, PA, a position he has held since 2021. Prior to his current role, from 2016 to 2021, he co-founded the Climate Solutions Advancement Network (ClimateSAN) in Toronto, Canada, where he collaborated with Paul Stevers on countering climate change.
Throughout his extensive career, Dr. Rosenberger held key positions in the US government from 1980 to 2016, including Chief Economist at U.S. Central Command and U.S. Pacific Command. His contributions were crucial in connecting economic trends with national security, earning him numerous awards and recognitions for his impactful work. He was a Distinguished Visiting Professor of National Security at Webster University, a Visiting Scholar on the Economics Faculty at Harvard University, an Adjunct Professor of International Political Economy at the University of Pittsburgh, and an Adjunct Scholar at the Modern War Institute at West Point. On Wall Street, he was an Emerging Market Economist for Roubini Global Economics and Jim Cramer’s the Street. He was also on the Board of Directors at the Economic Innovation Institute for Africa.
Dr. Rosenberger’s academic achievements include a Ph.D. in International Relations from Claremont Graduate School, a Master’s in History from Boston University, and a B.A. cum laude in History from Harvard University. He was also a Full Professor of Economics at US Army War College at Carlisle Barracks, PA., where he held the General Douglas MacArthur Academic Chair of Research in the Strategic Studies Institute. He has published over 10+ books and 60+ articles regarding economic, global, and human security.
In addition to his professional endeavors, Dr. Rosenberger has been actively involved in charitable work, serving on the board of Charity Help International from 2022 to presently. He plays a pivotal role in CharityHelp International’s mission, in expanding the use of offline free education resources in developing countries and supporting children in Afghanistan. As a board member, he guides efforts to optimize distance education, navigating challenges in empowering students in developing countries.
